Elderberry Syrup Recipe with Raw Honey

Ingredients:
– 1 cup fresh or ½ cup dried elderberries
– 3 cups water
– 1 cinnamon stick or 1 tsp ground cinnamon
– 3 cloves or 1/2 tsp ground cloves
– 1-inch knob fresh ginger (sliced) or 2 tsp ground ginger
– 1 cup raw honey

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine elderberries, water, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Let it bubble gently for 30–40 minutes, or until reduced by nearly half.
  3. Mash the berries gently with a wooden spoon.
  4. Strain the mixture through cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer into a clean bowl.
  5. Let it cool until just warm, then stir in the raw honey.
  6. Pour into a sterilized glass jar and refrigerate.

Dosage: Take 1 tablespoon daily for adults or 1 teaspoon for children. At the first sign of illness, you can increase to every few hours.
